Create Point By Number of ChordsPoints by Number of Chords

Availability: Computations module. (Not available in LISCAD Lite)
Menu Selection: From the Computations task, select the Create/Point command and the Method/Number of Chords command.
Functionality: Creates new points around an arc or circle based on a specified number of chords.

  • The OK Button creates the new points.
  • The new point identifier may also be determined by using the Next or Last buttons.
Notes:
  • To create points around a circle, enter the same point identifier for both Radial Points.
  • The Elevation Drop Down will only be available if the elevation attribute is active.
  • If the elevation difference control is selected from the Elevation Drop Down, the elevation difference entered will be applied to each new point progressively.
  • The points created will be given the attributes of the currently defined point attribute.
  • The number of chords entered is one greater than the number of new points created.
  • The new points will be created at equal chord distances from the start of the arc/circle.
  • The identifier in the point identifier field will be used for the first new point, and any subsequent new points will automatically use the next unused point identifier.
